Recycling Update- Composting & Reuse

Ham Gillett from Southern Windsor & Windham Counties Solid Waste Management District and the Greater Upper Valley Solid Waste Management District is back at it, providing new information pertaining to the roll out of Act 148, Vermont's "universal recycling law". The last phase of the law is the composting component for households, which goes into effect July 1. Ham talks with Patrick Cody about the do's and dont's of small scale household composting. They also touch on other recycling topics, including reuse. We then go to visit Ham in his office in the Southern Windsor County Regional Planning Commission, where he answers viewer questions that were submitted. We then finish on location at a commercial space under renovation in Ludlow, where we talk to Erich Kruger of Deconstruction Works, whose company takes apart buildings nail by nail in order to salvage & sell reusable building materials.
