As we noted here recently, we have received a permit from the Federal communications Commission (FCC) for a Low Power FM (LPFM) community radio station. We applied for this very rare opportunity after receiving a positive response to a survey that we put out back in the Fall. Now that we have the permit, we have the "green light" to start getting organized. We invite all community members who have an interest in community radio to get involved.
As a first step, we are holding a "listening session" on Wednesday May 8th from 6 - 7:30. It will be held in the studio here at Okemo Valley TV, with a remote option via Zoom.
This is an oppiortunity for our Board of Directors to hear from those interested about what they would like to get out of having a community radio station and what they might be willing to do to help make it all happen. The future station will very much be a community & volunteer supported endeavor. We'll have some refreshments on hand to aid in the discussion.
