As we've been reporting (and as some as you may have been noticing) we have been doing more & more with live broadcasting & streaming. So far, this has mostly been with government meetings, high school sports, and some other community events. And now, for the first time ever, we're producing two live broadcasts and live streams at once. On Monday, April 12th, we are providing the following live coverage:
Ludlow Development Review Board at 6pm - televising live on the Education / Government channel & live streaming on our You Tube channel
* This is the regular monthly meeting, for which we provide "gavel-top-gavel" coverage. It is being held remotely, by video conference, and includes the hearing on the planned substance use treatment facility from Divided Sky Foundation.
Plymouth Town Meeting at 7pm- televising on the Community Access channel & live streaming on our You Tube channel
We asked, and several of you abided. We received some great local & seasonal photographs (as well as video clips). You, too, can send us your seasonal photos & clips from around the region, and we will put them to use - whether on the community calendar / TV bulletin board, here on the website, on social media, or even in video programming. You will receive photo credit for anything you send us. Simply send your work along in an email. Here is a montage of some recent submissions featuring local seasonal scenes. Thank you to the following photographers: (clockwise, starting from upper left): George Thomson, Stefan Beaumont, Kathy Ehlers (x2), & Julianna Harris.
We've been covering Green Mountain Union High School basketball this season. We are live streaming the games on our You Tube channel. Some of the games are being broadcast live (including THIS Saturday's boys' playoff game at 2PM on our Community channel) , and all of the games are archived for viewing, here on the website. Playoffs started this week. Thanks to Norm Merrill for running the camera for each game, which frees us up to focus on the various technical components of the live streaming & broadcasts. And thanks to our newest staff member, Sarah Devereux, for being there to help with this effort.
And speaking of streaming.. thanks to a recent major upgrade from VTel, we now have lighting-fast internet, capable of supporting all of that.....you guessed it, streaming. More to come in that department. Stay tuned! In the meantime, have an event that you want to live broadcast and/or stream, or an idea for another show? Get in touch!
Check out the Town Meeting voting results for the Towns within our service area who have held their meetings so far: Ludlow, Cavendish, Mount Holly, Andover, & Reading.
We have posted them to the Education & Government calendar / bulletin board (which runs on our Education & Government TV channel), which is also available here
It's been an unusual year, to say the least, and Town Meeting is par for the course. Some Towns are holding their informational meetings entirely remotely, while others are offering a "hybrid" format. We have and/or will be covering the Town informational meetings for Ludlow, Cavendish, Andover, Mount Holly, and Plymouth.
We also have the school annual informational meetings for the Green Mountain, Ludlow-Mount Holly, Mill River Unified School Districts, and River Valley Technical Center, which were each held remotely over the past week. Thanks to our partners at SAPA-TV for providing us with the coverage of the meeting from the technical center.
All Town and School District meetings can be viewed here on our website and will be televised on our Education / Government channel through Town Meeting Day (Tuesday, March 2nd), with the exception of Plymouth, which will be held on Monday, Arpil 12th. Regularly-scheduled programming will be pre-empted for a steady rotation of Town & School District meetings. Be sure to check our Schedules page to find out which meeting is on when (click on the Education / Government channel link) to check daily schedules.
With the "green light" given by the State for winter sports competition to resume, we are assisting Green Mountain Union HS with the live streaming & broadcasting of hime basketball games! Thanks to Green Mountain's own Mr. Norm Merrill (who will be operating the camera), Athletic Director Mr. Todd Parah, GM's IT staff, and our video production & streaming equipment, we can bring you this coverage.
All home games will be streamed live on our You Tube channel.
Do you have any photos or (better yet) video clips of snow sport activity? We're looking to expand our catalogue. Send what you have to us...we will edit them into short videos, such as station IDs, and provide proper on-screen credits. You can managerokemovalley.tv (send an email )or call the station at 228-8808. Here is the latest one- thanks to Rachael Hyjek for submitting the clips!
